So I am in Dublin. New Font, new city. Anyway. So we reelected him, and it is our loss. Well, I didn't, and neither, I hope, did you. So what does this mean? It means that we fight harder. It means that we show every misstep as soon as it happens to the mass media, and with the crowd the republicans got elected, it won't be hard. We've got Coburn and we've got Bunning, and each are gonna say some damn stupid things in the next two years, and each time they do, each of us has to make it the thing to talk about. The time when news happened is gone. Now news is made. The republicans got this during the Clinton admin, by blowing up a stained dress to the size of a criminal investigation. They got this with Al Gore. And they got this with those damn Swifties. We have the next two years to catch up with the game, and end their power. Let's use it.

So, tomorrow we will have our answer, and 12 months of shaking, sweats, panic attacks, and nervous breakdowns will either be over, or will be given such an influx of raw material as to last the next four years. I think we will win tomorrow, and a new morning will break on America. But just in case, I believe an argument must be made for seceding from the Union. The time may be now.

Politics in Massachussetts is way out of the mainstream. We are derided across the red states for our Kennedys, our "french"-looking politicians, our gay marriages, our crazy road systems. If they feel that we are deserving of their scorn, then they shouldn't miss us all that much.

Besides which, we are Red Sox Nation. We already have the common feeling and common traditions necessary to be a nation.
