Oh, JP Art Market has a show up now, featuring, among others, a certain A. Jones, with some spectacular work, one Eric Wolfson ("I Paint the Presidents"), and Roger Miller, who if there ever were knighthood of Indy music, he'd be the guy with the sword . . .
Other miscellany:
Welsh, Louise Tamburlaine Must Die
Hardly a few pages in, and amazed by the prose by this woman. A fictional account of Marlowe's last hours.
Azerrad, Micheal Our Band Could Be Your Life
Finished this one, and a more defining history of the real music of the eighties couldn't be found. The chapter on Mission of Burma (for whom Roger Miller fronted) should be required reading to even pose as cool in Boston. Black Flag, Sonic Youth, and Butthole Surfers all get an illuminating analysis and history.
Fucking
I can hardly recommend this one enough.
